Accuracy estimation and optimization of UAV photogrammetric 3D models, IGN (Institut Géographique National)

Abstract:
In this talk Marc and Ewelina will present different strategies to evaluate the accuracy of the camera pose estimation as well as surface reconstruction, taking into account the specificity of UAV acquisitions. To sum up, an overview of recently finalised and on-going research activities will be given.

Bio: Marc Pierrot Deseilligny is a senior researcher and the head of LaSTIG lab, IGN. His research interest span across the entire photogrammetric chain, including tie-point extraction algorithms, pose estimation, surface reconstruction and deformation studies. He is the father and the most active developer of MicMac.
Ewelina Rupnik is a researcher within the LaSTIG lab, IGN. Her research concentrates on metrology and pose estimation, with applications to both Earth Sciences and Industry. She is part of the MicMac developing team since 2015.
